Gifted Musician – The Story So Far

Gifted Musician was formed in 2006 by two enthusiastic musicians who had spent many years involved in various musical endeavours both in an amateur and professional capacity.

The original concept for the Company was to bring together a range of quality gifts, cards and accessories, which all had a music theme – hence the Company name. It was to stock gifts that would appeal to people who were passionate about their hobby or career in music, but also items that may be of interest to people who were not necessarily musicians themselves but wanted to find an unusual gift for a musical friend or family member. It was important that items sold represented value for money, that customers enjoyed receiving their purchases, and that sales were backed up with an excellent and friendly service.

The two musicians used their knowledge, experience and general joy as practising musicians (in all senses!) to bring together the range. The first collection of items was launched via the Gifted Musician website in 2007. Shortly after, a first shop was opened in Brighton. In 2011 the business moved to a more prominent shop premises and  the range of goods available was expanded to include sheet music, accessories and classical guitars. As the business developed, more space was needed and in 2014 Gifted Musician moved to it’s current premises in Steyning High Street, where, in addition to the shop, it offered classical guitar lessons and support services such as guitar and violin restrings and repairs.

This continued until 2020, when the emergence of the Covid 19 restrictions saw the premises close to the public, and sale of goods and teaching became online only.

In 2022, Gifted Musician was pleased to be able to invite it’s guitar students back to the Steyning High Street studio for in-person tuition, in addition to the online learning offering.  However, due to restructuring, the premises remain closed to the wider public. Although the shop remains closed, a great range of gifts, cards, sheet music and accessories stocked by Gifted Musician can still be accessed via the website mail order service.
